Black Youth Development Mentorship Program

Applications for the 2023 Summer Black Youth Development and Mentorship Program (BYDMP) are now open.

The 8 week, full time work program is open to all Grade 11 and 12 students in Nova Scotia who are of African descent.

Opportunities are across a number of departments in Government of Nova Scotia.

To be considered for an opportunity with the BYDMP, you must:

  • Identify as African Nova Scotian and/or person of African Descent.

  • Be currently registered in Grade 11 or Grade 12 in Nova Scotia

  • Must be able to work full-time during the Summer Term (approximately 8 weeks, 35-37.5 hours a week depending on the position)

  • Have valid SIN and banking information to be provided at the time of hire
